Chess Board Coffee Table

This contemporary coffee table, made in locally sourced solid wood, uses a variety of rich woods to create a visually striking piece. The primary material, burr oak, is used throughout the construction, providing a robust and attractive foundation. The chessboard pattern on the tabletop is crafted from alternating squares of ash and walnut, offering a pleasing contrast in colour and texture. Surrounding these chess squares is a delicate inlay made from yew, which adds an additional layer of sophistication and detail to the design.

The sides of the table are constructed from 4cm thick burr oak. The hand-cut mitred joints make this a strong, durable coffee table.
